Course Description:
Developed by the Radiant Panel Association specifically for architects,
specifying engineers, building designers, building officials, and
general contractors. This course covers the variety of applications
and equipment used in radiant heating systems. It provides the information
needed to make informed decisions on when, where, and how to use
radiant heating and cooling systems in residential and commercial
buildings. Scheduling and sequencing is also covered to help construction
professionals properly plan for and execute a successful installation.
This course qualifies for 3.5 AIA Learning Unit Hours.
Instructor
Instructor John Abularrage has over 25 years of experience designing
radiant floor heating systems. He is president of Advanced Radiant
Design, Inc., a full-service design/build radiant contracting business
in Stone Ridge, NY. John is an authorized RPA instructor as well
as Certified Designer/Installer.
Course Materials Include:
Radiant Architecture
This book provides
information of specific interest to architects and builders. It is
a complete and comprehensive book in the basics of radiant panel
heating for residential and light commercial buildings utilizing
hydronic and electric floor, wall and ceiling panels as viewed by
the architect. Well illustrated with photos, drawings, schematics,
examples and case studies. It is designed to give the architect or
builder a clear understanding of the various systems available, how
they can be applied to buildings, and the sequencing of the construction
and installation process.
Radiant Flooring Guide
A full color guide to suitable floor coverings and sub floor materials
for use with radiant heating. This guide contains many photos and
colorful illustrations plus first hand perspectives from an architect,
general contractor, flooring installer and radiant contractor.
RPA Guidelines
A specification guideline for the design and installation of Radiant
Panel Heating and Snow/Ice Melting Systems. Intended for reference
use by code officials, designers and installers. Deals with both
hydronic and electric floor, wall and ceiling applications, include
sample schematics and industry recommendations.
This course qualifies for 3.5 hours of AIA Learning
Units.
